YOUTH
Youth strategies that last
RPM has developed and implemented some of the most significant youth strategies in remote Western Australia. Our approach covers consultation, development, design, implementation and capacity building, with sustainability planned in from day one. Every one of these strategies is still running today.
Our youth work
Barramundi School Diversion Program, North East Kimberley (1999–2003): consultation, development, design and implementation of a school diversion program, funded by the Education Department of Western Australia.
Martu Youth Strategy, Western Desert: youth workers across 8 communities, more than 30 Martu youth workers trained with Notre Dame and Charles Darwin University, and a successful handover to the Martu Trust after five years.
Balgo Youth Strategy: engaging more than 100 young people 7 days a week and building the capacity of 10 local Balgo youth workers to deliver on-country programs.
Mulan Youth Strategy: a trauma-informed program with local Mulan youth workers, a junior ranger program with the Paraku Rangers and Mulan School, and accredited youth work pathways with Charles Darwin University.
Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley: a review of youth service delivery and the Integrated Youth Model in Kununurra.
